A bar on the St. Mary’s Strip is closing down and offered to give us these. Beautify doesn’t need them, but if you want them, they’re yours. I’ll make sure we get them power washed first and all the straight people sweat cleaned off. Just let me know where to drop them off.

I stare at pictures Juni sent me after the text of these large, still blank, mask statues gathered inside an empty building. There’s at least ten of them, and Juni’s next message is talking about how they come up to about his chin, so basically my height. They’re longer than they are wide. Less masquerade and more lucha libre.

Wait. Lucha libre. Yes.

Give me the day to find a place to store them, but yes, I need. For what? No idea yet. So, more of a want than a need. But I literally do need them.

“Pa!” I start yelling from my room. “Pa!”
